WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Michael Cloud (TX-27) released the following statement regarding the news that Sharitta Grier, the last American detained in the Turks and Caicos Islands, has been released and is now free to return to the United States:

“I am relieved to hear that Sharitta Grier will be allowed to return home. The release of all those who were unjustly detained in TCI highlights the importance of our continued efforts to protect and support Americans detained abroad.

I extend my thanks to those who joined the CODEL to advocate for their release: Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK), Senator John Fetterman (D-PA), Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA), Rep. Bob Good (R-VA), and Rep. Josh Brecheen (R-OK). Their steadfast support was crucial in securing this outcome.”

Michael Cloud demands answers from ICE over nearly 300,000 missing migrant children

“The Biden-Harris administration’s failure to track thousands of vulnerable migrant children is unacceptable,” he told the Washington Examiner. “Almost 300,000 children have essentially vanished under their watch, putting them at serious risk of trafficking and exploitation. This administration is sitting by and not doing nearly enough to get answers and fix this crisis.”
