DOGE is Holding Federal Agencies Accountable
The DOGE Subcommittee held its first hearing on improper payments and outdated bureaucratic systems, addressing the lack of transparency in federal spending. For years, hardworking Americans have watched their taxpayer dollars wasted on unnecessary grants to foreign countries, proxy wars, and divisive DEI programs in schools—all while federal agencies continue spending with no accountability.
With President Trump and the DOGE, we are exposing waste buried in government contracts. During the recent hearing, the LexisNexis CEO revealed that nearly $1 trillion was stolen during the COVID pandemic—70% of it going overseas. Thanks to these investigations, $65 billion in taxpayer dollars has already been recovered, with much more to come as we restore fiscal responsibility.
On the DOGE Subcommittee, our mission is clear—hold agencies accountable, expose corruption, and ensure transparency. The American people deserve to know where their money is going and our goal is to shine a light to make sure they do and corrections are made. The committee will regularly post updates on the Solutions and Savings here.
An End to Bureaucratic Overreach
In the House Oversight Committee, we examined the unchecked expansion of the federal bureaucracy. Instead of serving the American people, unelected bureaucrats have built a system that protects their own power—obstructing policies and creating endless red tape.
The findings are staggering. Despite an increase in Department of Education funding over the years, U.S. student performance has flattened and even fallen behind globally. Meanwhile, DOE bureaucratic roles have multiplied, the number of teachers in classrooms—where it matters most—has declined. This one example of an unchecked expansion of government has come at the expense of our children’s future. It’s time to rein in these agencies and restore accountability before our Nation’s decline becomes irreversible.
America is back — and President Trump is Just Getting Started

In just one month, President Trump has moved quickly to deliver on key promises to the American people. His administration has prioritized government efficiency, border security, and economic growth—and the results speak for themselves:
- The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is working to rein in waste, fraud, and abuse within the bureaucracy.
- At the border, migrant apprehensions have dropped 93%, with some days seeing fewer than 300 crossings—a drastic shift from the 11,000 per day under the previous administration.
- Almost $1.6 trillion in new investments have been secured, notably an 250,000-square-foot server manufacturing facility in Houston for Apple.
Only one month in, President Trump has already set the nation on a path to prosperity. The next four years will be defined by strong leadership, economic revival, and a secure America.

The PATROL Act: Prevent Aliens Through Rivers or Land

I introduced the PATROL Act to give Texas and other border states the legal authority to secure their borders without the scrutiny of the Department of Justice attempting to sue them. Under the previous administration, Texas faced lawsuits and backlash when attempting to protect its own border. This bill ensures states will always be able to build physical barriers and floating barriers without DOJ approval. Thankfully, this is not a concern under the Trump Administration, but what is a concern is a future Democrat administration suing Texas for defending its borders.
The bill allows states to act quickly against illegal immigration. With strong leadership now in the White House, securing the border for years to come is a top priority.

The Cost Estimates Improvement Act: Expose the True Cost of Washington’s Spending

The Cost Estimates Improvement Act ensures Congress accounts for interest payments before approving new spending. Lawmakers must face the full financial reality of our decisions—because reckless spending today means higher costs for taxpayers tomorrow. With the national debt surpassing $36 trillion and annual interest payments exceeding $1 trillion, Washington is spending more on debt than on our national defense every year. Yet, current budget estimates fail to include long-term interest costs, leaving lawmakers and taxpayers in the dark. This bill closes that loophole, bringing greater transparency and accountability to federal spending.
This bill previously passed the House Budget Committee with support from both Republicans and Democrats. With interest payments growing at an alarming rate, it’s time for a change. Passing this bill will be a critical step toward restoring accountability and preventing Washington from leaving future generations with more unchecked debt. Read more here.
In The Media
I joined Alec Lace’s podcast, Newsmax, and Breitbart Daily Radio to discuss the Dismantle DEI Act, the misuse of USAID funds that have been uncovered, and the crucial work that DOGE is doing exposing Washington’s bureaucracy. Congress must support the America-first agenda and cut the continued growth of government. We are headed toward a fiscal cliff, which is as much a national security issue as our open borders and many other challenges we face as a nation.
God Bless,
