House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Welcomes Back Congressman Cloud

Washington, D.C.– Today, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability announced the return of Rep. Michael Cloud (TX-27), where he will play a vital role in holding government bureaucracy accountable and helping in ongoing investigations into the Biden administration.

Rep. Cloud had been a member of the Oversight Committee since his election to office, only stepping away in January of 2023 after being added to the House Appropriations Committee. When a seat on the Oversight Committee opened up in early November, Rep. Cloud became a candidate and was officially added back to the committee with a vote on House Floor last night.

The Committee is led by Chairman James Comer (KY-01) and is tasked with the mission to “ensure the efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability of the federal government and all its agencies.”

“I am thankful to join Chairman Comer and the Oversight and Accountability Committee in the important work they are doing to rein in the Washington bureaucracy and hold the Biden administration accountable,” Congressman Cloud said. “Since my election to Congress, I have been on a mission to weed out waste, fraud, abuse, and corruption on behalf of the American people. The Oversight Committee is on the front lines of this effort.”

“I am excited Michael Cloud will be bringing his talents back to the Oversight Committee as we continue to follow the facts to hold President Biden accountable. Michael Cloud is a strong advocate for the American people who helped us deliver results when he previously served on the Oversight Committee. We are glad to welcome him back,” said Chairman Comer.

Representative Cloud will also continue to serve on the Appropriations committee.
