Congressman Cloud’s Statement on Supporting Jim Jordan for Speaker of the House

Washington, D.C. Today, Congressman Michael Cloud (TX-27) issued the following statement supporting Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan for Speaker of the House:

“Our country is at a critical juncture. When it comes to the next choice for Speaker, we need someone who can lead the House toward keeping our promises, taking our message to the American people, and breaking the cycle of Swamp politics that has plagued this place for so long.

We are blessed with multiple candidates who could do the job effectively — but I believe one candidate stands out as clearly suited to meet the task at hand, while inspiring hope in millions of Americans desperate to see change in DC. Jim Jordan is a man of integrity, principle, and vision. Time and time again he has shown himself to be a leader willing to fight for what matters to Americans, while bringing people together to deliver results and do what we said we would do. I truly believe he would unite our conference and inspire the kind of change Congress has desperately needed for a long time. I’m honored to give Jim my enthusiastic endorsement.”
