Congressman Cloud Votes in Opposition to CHIPS-Plus Act

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Michael Cloud (TX-27) issued the following statement after voting in opposition of the Senate Amendment to H.R. 4346, the CHIPS-Plus Act:

“As our nation experiences record inflation and the Biden recession, Democrats continue to push policies that will exacerbate this economic hardship.” Congressman Cloud said. “Though I support the goal of encouraging more semiconductor manufacturing in the US, the Senate’s CHIPS-Plus Act adds $79 billion dollars to the deficit, advances the green energy agenda, and leaves loopholes for China to exploit. I voted no.”
