Congressman Cloud Votes in Opposition of Continuing Resolution

Washington, D.C. 一 Today, Congressman Cloud (TX-27) issued a statement regarding his vote in opposition of a Continuing Resolution (CR) to continue government funding.

Currently, a vote in favor of funding our government would enable the continuation of unconstitutional COVID-19 vaccine mandates that the Biden Administration is trying to impose on Americans一causing millions of working men and women to have to choose between getting the vaccine or keeping their job. Congressman Cloud believes no American should be forced into that position.

This CR appropriates over $7 billion of taxpayer money to place tens of thousands of unvetted Afghan evacuees into our communities while supplying no additional funds to fix the crisis at our southern border.

House leadership has spent trillions over the last several months ignoring any semblance of legislative due process. This CR only serves to enable this continued dysfunction in Congress.

The American people deserve better.

“I refuse to vote in favor of funding a federal government which is continually attacking our constitutional rights by imposing unconstitutional vaccine mandates on American working men and women,” Congressman Cloud said. “My constituents sent me to Washington to fight for our constitutional freedoms while prioritizing ‘America first’ policies. The Biden Administration’s authoritarian agenda is deteriorating our country. Republicans should not sit idle and enable this Administration to carry out its dangerous policies.”
