Congressman Cloud Statement on the Indictment of President Trump

Washington, D.C. 一 Congressman Michael Cloud (TX-27) released the following statement regarding the indictment of President Trump:

“Today is a sad day for America. The political left has now crossed a rubicon that will do severe damage to the country.

For a liberal DA to indict former President Trump on a flimsy charge that even Biden’s runaway DOJ has dismissed is completely outrageous. This is the same liberal DA that campaigned on his personal vendetta against President Trump, now pursuing an indictment blatantly motivated by politics.

It is also shameful that this follows a history of politicized action against Donald Trump, from participating in a false Russian collusion hoax, to spreading disinformation about Hunter Biden during a presidential election campaign, to the FBI raid in Mar-a-Lago a few months ago.

This erroneous indictment of President Trump is third world prosecutorial behavior and severely risks undermining the integrity of our legal system. It will not stand.”
