It was a privilege to visit the U.S. Coast Guard facility along the Gulf Coast and personally present the Patriot Award to these exceptional men and women. Recently, these brave service members conducted a heroic Search and Rescue operation, saving the lives of two scuba divers who had been lost at sea for nearly two days.

Lieutenant Commander Nina McDonald and her team’s outstanding coordination, the incredible determination of Coast Guard 2306’s aircrew, and the relentless dedication of Petty Officer Nathan Cyrus, Petty Officer James Welzig, Lieutenant Brian Holcombe, and Lieutenant Junior Grade Jake Pritchett made this rescue possible under severe weather conditions and challenging circumstances. Their bravery and commitment are a testament to the highest standards of service. Thank you for all you do to protect and serve.

The groundbreaking for Phase IV of the Aviation Multipurpose Production Facility at the Corpus Christi Army Depot marks a significant investment in our community’s future. This modernization project will not only upgrade our powertrain engine assembly capabilities but also create new jobs, further boosting the local economy and strengthening our region’s role in supporting our nation’s defense.

I also met with Major General Robinson and discussed CCAD’s vital role in supporting military readiness. As the U.S. Army’s leading helicopter maintenance facility, CCAD employs over 3,000 individuals and continues to be a cornerstone of our community and national defense. This project will extend through 2032 and strengthen our district’s contribution to America’s security.

The Veterans Roundtable in Corpus Christi brings together our local veterans to discuss crucial issues affecting our nation. This week we discussed defending our constitutional rights, such as the First and Second Amendments, to economic recovery, border security, and energy independence. The event also highlighted recent local achievements, including enhanced resources at the Corpus Christi Army Depot, a successful Coast Guard rescue, and ongoing improvements at NAS Corpus Christi.

Thank you to everyone who joined!

Our region recently celebrated a significant milestone with the commissioning ceremony of the USS KINGSVILLE at the Port of Corpus Christi. This new vessel honors the town’s rich naval history and embodies the spirit of determination and bold action that is a hallmark of both Kingsville and our great state of Texas.

As we commissioned this ship, we were reminded of the sacrifices made by those who serve and the enduring values they uphold. Wherever this ship may sail, the prayers and support of liberty-loving Americans are with her crew. May the USS KINGSVILLE serve as a beacon of strength and a testament to the unyielding spirit of Texas.

Mark Zuckerburg’s announcement last week confirms what many of us have been saying for nearly four years: Facebook collaborated with the Biden-Harris Administration and government apparatus to censor information and suppress the truth ahead of an election and dissenting info about COVID-19.

This is a serious violation of our freedoms and a stark reminder of why we cannot trust corrupt government bureaucrats to act as the arbiters of ‘misinformation.’ It’s clear that we must remain vigilant in protecting our right to free speech and ensure that those who abuse power are held accountable.

I wanted to let you know that the Houston Passport Agency is holding a special Passport Day on Saturday, September 7th, from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Appointments are required, so be sure to book your spot in advance and mention that you’re scheduling for the event. Last week, I joined the Wade and Carter Show and the Bob Jones Show, where I discussed my recent visit to NAS Pensacola and NAS Whiting Field in Florida, our position on the Continuing Resolution and the SAVE Act, and my travels across the district. It’s always a pleasure to share updates on what’s happening in Congress and hear from folks around Texas’ 27th District.

God Bless,

Michael Cloud
Member of Congress
