WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Michael Cloud (R-TX) released the following statement on the news that Tyler Wenrich, one of the remaining American citizens being detained in Turks and Caicos, will not face jail time:

“I am relieved and grateful to learn that Turks and Caicos will soon release Tyler, allowing him to return home to his family. This is an answer to prayer and follows my visit to the country last week with colleagues and our conversations with local officials.

Our prayers remain with Sharitta and Ryan as we continue to advocate for their speedy release. We remain committed to ensuring their safe return and will not rest until they are both back home where they belong.”

This administration is sitting by and not doing nearly enough to get answers and fix this crisis.”
