Election integrity remains one of the most crucial issues our country is facing. The SAVE America Act requires proof of citizenship when registering to vote, closing loopholes that have put our elections at risk.
The House has passed the SAVE America Act three times to ensure that only American citizens can participate in American elections, but the Senate has yet to follow suit.
Our senators should not allow procedural obstacles to prevent one of the nation’s most popular pieces of legislation from advancing. I urge our lawmakers to demonstrate commitment to carry out their legislative duties and pass the SAVE America Act.

Supreme Court Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Elana Kagan testified before the House Appropriations Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee seeking a budget increase. The budget increase is to parallel the increased number and intensity of threats to the justices’ safety. This hearing marked the first appearance by members of the Supreme Court before Congress since 2019.
Justices Elana Kagan and Amy Coney Barrett were met with bipartisan support for increased security for Justices. Our working members should be able to safely do their duties without fearing for themselves or their families. Their $207 million budget request is less than one-tenth of 1% of the entire federal budget.
Additionally, I advocated against the American Bar Association’s (ABA) recent efforts on their political standing. The ABA has not been acting as the neutral arbiter of legal fitness when it has positioned itself to be. They have used their power and authority to influence law schools and other accredited organizations to fit their far-left agenda.
Congress has a duty to prioritize the safety of our Justices, and I proudly support this bipartisan effort. I will keep fighting for the security of all Americans and hold organizations like the ABA accountable. Our judiciary depends on both.

I had the pleasure of delivering the keynote speech at the Hays Caldwell Economic Development Partnership Innovation Summit. The excellence of American Innovation should be praised, and we must call on our nation’s innovators to reclaim American leadership in manufacturing, energy, and defense as the nation celebrated its 250th year.
Texas remains a leader in the nation’s defense and aerospace sectors, being home to major military installments with 225,000 active-duty service members, the human spaceflight program, and many leading defense contractors and space companies.
As a member of the House Appropriations Committee and Vice Chair of the Energy and Water Subcommittee, I helped secure an additional $350 billion defense investment, which will go towards projects to advance our nation’s innovation, including three nuclear energy projects in our very own district.
Texas’s innovators embody the ambition and aspiration that has driven American progress for the past 250 years. I remain committed to ensuring that our communities have the resources to lead in energy, defense, and aerospace. American exceptionalism was built from the genius of free individuals, not from the top-down intervention of government. Innovation is an American tradition, but this exceptionalism just didn’t happen on accident. It’s because our founders embraced an exceptional set of ideas that empower people to do their best work.

As Vice Chair of the Appropriations Energy & Water Subcommittee”, I testified in support of H.R 9022 on behalf of Chairman Chuck Fleischmann. This $58.5 billion funds our nuclear deterrent, aids the modernization of our Navy’s nuclear fleet, and gives back to our coastal communities by funding Army Corps of Engineers water projects. The FY2027 Energy and Water bill includes over $40 million in funds for the Matagorda Ship Channel and $10 million secured for a Water Center of Excellence in the Texas region off of the Gulf of America. This center would advance research and practical solutions to address growing water supply challenges in our area.
The House Appropriations Committee has passed every bill out of Committee, with FY2027 Agriculture and Military Construction & Veteran Affairs, being the only two to pass out of the House to this point. there is also support for several important projects in our district including:
