The United States has been blessed with abundant natural resources and must continue to develop American energy so we can provide reliable, affordable energy that powers our country and the world. Texas is at the forefront of this energy revolution. The ports in our district are some of the best in the world. I am working to ensure that these economic drivers reach their full potential and are not hindered by the overreach of Washington bureaucrats as has so often been the case in the past.
Deepening and widening the port in Corpus Christi is key to exporting a greater amount of American crude and natural gas, allowing us to (1) create more American jobs (2) lower our nation’s trade deficit, and (3) make the rest of the world less dependent on Russian oil and gas.

All of this is achievable, if we invest in our infrastructure, open more federal lands and waters for exploration, limit the power of Washington bureaucrats and allow Texas to oversee energy production in our state. Infrastructure development, including our six ports, is especially important in a net-exporting district like ours. I am working to limit federal control and empower state and local governments to meet their specific infrastructure needs.
